A841 grade A class 1 plates API 650 aboveground oil storage tanks

Oil tank is an important equipment for oil storage. The common API 650 aboveground oil storage tanks is composed of foundation, bottom plate, wall plate, top plate and accessories. The types of oil tank are various, which can be divided according to the characteristics of material, installation position, storage oil, use, appearance, structure and volume of oil tank. The commonly used materials of metal oil tank are stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, etc.

Density of API 650 aboveground oil storage tanks Liquid Stored
The density of the liquid stored shall be its maximum density within the range of design temperatures, but no less than 29.3 lbf/ft3 for methane, 34.21 lbf/ft3 for ethane, and 35.5 lbf/ft3 for ethylene.
Design Metal Temperature
The design metal temperature of each component exposed to the liquid or vapor being stored shall be the lower of the temperatures specified as follows: The design metal temperature of the components of the API 620 single-wall tank or the inner tank of a double-wall tank shall be the minimum temperature to which the tank contents shall be refrigerated, including the effect of subcolony at reduced pressure."

Corrosion allowance, if specified, shall be added to calculated API 650 tanks shell and self-supporting roof thicknesses; to minimum nominal thicknesses of bottom and supported API 650 aboveground oil storage tanks roof plates; to nozzles and manholes; and to all exposed surfaces of internal structural members and non-removable internals.
