Mechanical loading on API 650 carbon steel storage tanks
Considering the large workload of allocation and transportion for our steel materials, we have built special shipping department, and make it independent form transportation department. The transportation department is in charge of transporting steel materials from our mill and warehouse to the port, and our shipping department is in charge of the shipping matters. So that our whole shipping efficiency is improved, and shorten time for customers to receive goods.
Static storage loss is also known as "small breathing" consumption. The rise and fall of the temperature in the API 650 carbon steel storage tanks leads to the increase and decrease of the pressure in the tank, which makes the mixed oil gas discharged from the tank, and the external air is sucked into the tank, resulting in the oil consumption. Fluid level loss is also called "big breathing" loss. It is the oil consumption caused by the change of gas space volume in the API 650 carbon steel storage tanks during the oil receiving and sending operation, which causes the mixed oil gas to be discharged out of the tank, and the external air is sucked into the tank, resulting in the oil consumption due to the change of liquid level height.
Inspection of low-pressure storage tank Butt-weldsComplete penetration and complete fusion is required (to the degree mandated by the acceptance criteria for examination method utilized) for welds joining tank wall plates to API 650 carbon steel storage tanks tank wall plates. Examination for quality of welds shall be made using either the radiographic method specified in API 620 standard 7.15.1 and applied in 7.17, or alternatively, by agreement between the Purchaser and the Manufacturer, using the ultrasonic method specified in 7.15.3.1. In addition to the radiographic or ultrasonic examination, these welds shall also be visually examined as specified in 7.15.5. Furthermore, the Purchaser’s inspector may visually inspect all butt-welds for cracks, arc strikes, excessive undercuts, surface porosity, incomplete fusion, and other defects.
