In this project, a cylindrical tank 30 ft in diameter is designed for an internal pressure of 5 lbf/in.2 gauge in the vapor space. The plate material is ASTM A131 Grade A steel for thicknesses of 1/2 in. and less. The top course of the butt- welded cylindrical sidewall is 1/4 in. thick, including a 1/16 in. corrosion allowance. The tank API Std 650 liquid-storage tanks roof is a butt-welded spherical dome with an internal radius of 30 ft and a thickness of 1/4 in., including a 1/16 in. corrosion allowance. The maximum design liquid level is 6 in. below the plane of the juncture of the roof and sidewall.

Structural features of API 650 double-layer oil tank: steel glass fiber reinforced plastic double-layer structure, special processing method is adopted between the API Std 650 liquid-storage tanks internal steel shell and glass fiber reinforced plastic layer, so that a gap of 0.1 mm is created between the internal and external layers. Even if the API 650 oil storage tank leaks, it can ensure that the contained dangerous substances only flow in the gap, and will not immediately overflow the external environment.

The Indian customer purchased our A516 Gr 70 pressure vessel steel plates to make tanks. They have very strict requirement for raw materials quality. For the A516 Gr 70 pressure vessel steel plates, they asked for Normalizing, 0℃ impact, A578 UT test, PWHT and so on tests, our Q/C department witness the production process with the technician from the customer company together. Meanwhile, we arrange BV inspection to check the quantity, spray mark, stamp on the A516 Gr 70 pressure vessel steel plates, and so on.

Sand blasting and derusting of API Std 650 liquid-storage tanks uses compressed air as power and SiC, pomegranate sand and quartz sand as spraying materials to form high-speed jet beam, which is used to remove rust and dirt on the surface of metal storage tank and improve the binding force of workpiece with coating and plating material. Sand blasting is often used in API Std 650 liquid-storage tanks construction.
