API 650 horizontal tank hydrostatic testing requirements
API 650 sets minimum requirements for the design, material, construction, and testing for aboveground, open and closed-top, cylindrical API 650 horizontal tank steel storage tanks in different capacities and sizes, roughly equating to the pressure of the atmosphere (not greater than the weight of the roof plates).
When talking about our team, it is hard not to mention our QC department (Quality Control). We have built strict qualitycontrol system to guarantee the steel quality. During the steel materials production, we have strict monitoring measures and indicators, and ensure no chemical composition, mechnical properties and so on technical problems for the steel materials API 650 horizontal tank. After production, our QC department will conduct another inspection regarding to the steel quantity, dimension, mark and so on points before delivery.
Adhere to the spirit of quality first and user foremost, carry out maintenance and other work according to the requirements of the buyer's contract, and ensure that the engineering project and product after-sales play their application effectiveness. Our company guarantees to carry out self inspection and self supervision according to the quality management policy proposed by our company, and deliver a high-grade, perfect and excellent system engineering to users.
In this project, an area of tank wall is constructed of ASTM A285, Grade C, steel plate that is 5/8-in. thick and has spot-radiographed, double-welded butt joints. The wall is subject to tension in a meridional direction and to compression in a latitudinal direction. The values of R1 and R2 at the point under consideration are 75 in. and 300 in. respectively. A corrosion allowance of 1/16 in. is required. The computed (meridional) tensile stress, stc, in the net thickness after deduction of the corrosion allowance is 6000 lbf/in.2. The problem in this example is to find the maximum allowable (latitudinal) compressive stress value for the given conditions, in conformance with the provisions of API 620 tank standard 5.5.4.5.
