API Std 650 self-anchored tanks foundation
The main types of metal storage tanks are vertical dome roof tank, vertical external floating roof tank, vertical inner floating roof tank, spherical oil tank and horizontal oil storage tank. API Std 650 self-anchored tanks is vertical tank. The capacity of vertical dome roof oil storage tank is generally less than 10000 cubic meters. The wall plate adopts sleeve type fillet weld, and it is usually installed by inverted or forward installation method during construction.
Bearing on FoundationsFoundations shall preferably be designed to resist the load exerted by the API Standard 620 tank and its contents when the tank is filled with water to the design liquid level. Foundations shall be designed at least for the maximum operating conditions including the wind load. During the API Std 650 self-anchored tanks water test, the total load on the foundation shall not exceed 125% of the allowable loading. If necessary, the water level during the test may be reduced below the design liquid level line so as not to exceed the 25% maximum overload (see Q.8.1.2).
Pipeline transportation of API 650 oil tank is not less than the maximum consumption of 3 to 5 days. The daily operating time of API Std 650 self-anchored tanks office buildings and fuel oil equipment is 12-16 hours; for high-end residential hotel buildings, the daily operating time is 16-24 hours.
