API standard 650 anchored tanks connections with adjacent structures
The elastic filling and sealing of floating roof API standard 650 anchored tanks is to fill the elastic and changeable objects in the sealed envelope, and the sealing purpose depends on the compression deformation of the filler. This kind of sealing effect is good, the requirement of the geometry of tank wall is not too high, and the adaptability is strong. However, the elastic filling and sealing has poor wear resistance and is easy to deform and damage in long-term use.
Inspection of Welded storage tanks Surfaces Exposed during FabricationThe edges of API standard 650 anchored tanks plates, openings and fittings exposed during fabrication shall be inspected carefully to make sure that any defects have been uncovered, as well as to determine that the work has been performed properly.Minor defects found may be repaired only after the inspector approves the method and extent of repairs. Materials that have more than minor defects that cannot be satisfactorily repaired shall be rejected.Spot radiographic or ultrasonic examination shall be not less than 6 in. extending along the weld. Spot radiography shall comply with the standards given in 7.15.1.3. Where spot radiographic or ultrasonic examination is applied at joint intersections, the surface shall be prepared and examined for a distance of 3 in. on each side of the intersection, making the minimum length of examination 6 in. on the horizontal weld and 3 in. on the vertical weld.
API 650 petroleum storage tank body design is mainly the design of tank bottom, API standard 650 anchored tanks tank top and tank wall, and the design of tank wall is particularly important. As the main pressure bearing part of API 650 petroleum storage tank, the tank wall bears loads including liquid pressure, wind pressure, seismic load, opening stress, etc. The calculation of such loads is explained in detail in various API standard 650 anchored tanks storage tank design standards. But in addition, the API 650 petroleum storage tank wall also bears the push-pull force and torque of the connected pipeline.
