60ft diameter API Std 650 cylindrical liquid-storage tank

Service Conditions and Hydrogen-induced Cracking
When the service conditions might include the presence of hydrogen sulfide or other conditions that may promote hydrogen-induced cracking effects, particularly near the bottom of the API Std 650 cylindrical liquid-storage tank shell at the shell-to-bottom connections, care shall be taken to ensure that the materials and details of construction of the tank are adequate to resist hydrogen- induced cracking. The Purchaser shall consider restricting the sulphur content of the material to be stored through thickness testing of the steel, laboratory surveillance tests, and the use of internal tank coatings to reduce the possibility of hydrogen-induced cracking.

API 650 is widely used for tanks that are designed to internal pressures of 2.5 PSI or less and store products such as crude oil, gasoline, chemicals and API Std 650 cylindrical liquid-storage tank produced water. Advance Tank has extensive experience with API 650 tanks ranging in diameter from 8' - 300' for refineries, terminals, pipeline facilities and other clients.

API Std 650 cylindrical liquid-storage tank Oil measuring hole: The oil measuring hole is used to measure the height, temperature and sampling of the oil stored in the tank, and is installed near the tank top platform. API Std 650 cylindrical liquid-storage tank Fire extinguisher: The fire extinguisher (also known as the flame arrestor) of the oil tank is composed of a fire box, a copper wire mesh and an aluminum partition. It is installed under the breathing valve or safety valve to prevent sparks and air from entering the inside of the tank through the breathing valve or safety valve and causing accidents.
