40ft diameter API Std 650 mechanically-anchored steel tanks

Considering the large workload of allocation and transportion for our steel materials, we have built special shipping department, and make it independent form transportation department. The transportation department is in charge of transporting steel materials from our mill and warehouse to the port, and our shipping department is in charge of the shipping matters. So that our whole shipping efficiency is improved, and shorten time for customers to receive goods.

Requirements for prefabrication of the top of large vertical API Std 650 mechanically-anchored steel tanks: The prefabrication of the tank top shall be prefabricated in blocks according to the drawings. Pay attention to the spacing of the welds after installation when setting out the material. Reinforcing ribs should be formed and inspected with an arc-shaped template. When a single top plate needs to be spliced, butt joints should be used. The forming of a single top plate should be welded between the reinforcing ribs and the top plate on the mould. After forming, check with an arc-shaped sample plate, and the gap should not be greater than 10 mm.

Insulation Load
For API 620 tanks designed and constructed with an outer tank containing loose fill insulation in the annular space between the tanks, the insulation weight shall be divided equally to the inner and outer tank wall for seismic lateral loads unless a more rigorous analysis is performed to determine the distribution. The insulation within the annular space shall not be used to calculate resistance to overturning. Insulation on the API Std 650 mechanically-anchored steel tanks roof or suspended deck shall be applied to the tank supporting the load at the point or center of gravity of attachment and may be used to resist overturning.
