200ft diameter API standard 650 SUG II tanks

Allowable compressive stresses shall be in accordance with 5.5.4 except that for aluminum alloy plate the allowable compressive stresses shall be reduced by the ratio of the modulus of compressive elasticity to 29,000 for values of (t – c)/R less than 0.0175 and by the ratio of the minimum yield strength for the aluminum alloy in question to 30,000 for values of (t – c)/R equal to or greater than 0.0175 (see 5.5.2 for definitions). In all other equations in this standard API standard 650 SUG II tanks where yield strength or modulus of elasticity is used, such as Equations 27 and 28, similar corrections shall be made for aluminum alloys.

The API 650 specification provides guidelines for the API standard 650 SUG II tanks design, manufacturing, materials, installation and inspection of welded vertical and cylindrical tanks. Such containers must be on the ground and have a closed or open top.

Proper use of API standard 650 SUG II tanks and precautions:
1. The API standard 650 SUG II tanks must be used within the safe height range;
2. Check before use to ensure that the safety valve and breathing valve are flexible and easy to use;
3. The explosion-proof and fire-proof safety measures for oil tanks are implemented effectively;
4. The oil level in the API standard 650 SUG II tanks should be accurately measured when receiving and delivering oil, so as to prevent overflow or empty;
5. In the process of receiving and sending oil, the flow rate of oil should be controlled, and it should not be too fast to avoid electrostatic accidents.
