Longitudinal welded joints in piping that contains liquid shall be completely radiographed except for manufactured pipe welded without filler metal, 12 in. or less in diameter, which is tested hydrostatically or by eddy current to ASTM requirements.
The working pressure of the low-pressure storage tank is greater than that of the atmospheric storage tank, but its pressure is less than 0.1MPa. API 650 petroleum storage tanks are classified according to their environment: Above-ground storage tank: refers to the bottom of the storage tank at the design elevation of API standard 650 larger diameter tanks and above; the bottom of the tank is below the design elevation of +0.00 but not exceeding.

According to the requirements of the technical standard, penetrant inspection is required for the weld of edge plate at the bottom of API standard 650 larger diameter tanks, that is, penetrant testing is required for each weld bead priming, filling and capping. In the process of testing, if any defect is found, it shall be repaired immediately. After the repair, the surface coloring penetrant test shall be conducted again until the test result is qualified.
