The shell of API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks

The preparatory work before the construction of the API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks is an important part of the oil tank project. Material purchase preparation before the construction of the API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks:
Before API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks construction, all materials shall be purchased and prepared, and the specifications and quality of materials shall be inspected to see if they meet the construction operation requirements. Fire and rain proof measures should be taken when storing materials. Paint should be stored in a ventilated and dry place.

The vent pipe mouth should be 4m or more above the ground. The nominal diameter of the API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks API 650 petroleum storage tank vent pipe should be no less than 50mm and a flame arrestor should be installed.

As we all know, steel pipes occupy more space in the process of transportation. If there is no good way of packing, the transportation cost for steel pipes will be a big expense. In view of this characteristic, our company is ingenious and adopts the nest package method to solve this problem perfectly. The premise of the nest package is that the diameters of the steel pipes are different, and the small diameter pipe is inserted in the large diameter pipe. This not only saves the volume, but also saves the transportation cost. It also reduces the loading and unloading workload by half, saves precious time, and enables customers to receive goods earlier.

Test plates shall be welded using the same qualified welding procedure and electrodes that are required for the tank shell plate joints. The API 620 steel storage tank test plates need not be welded as an extension of the tank shell joint but shall be welded in the required qualifying positions. One test weld shall be made on a set of plates from each specification and grade of API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks plate material, using a thickness that would qualify for all thicknesses in the shell. Each test welded of thickness t shall qualify for plate thicknesses from 2t down to t/2, but not less than 5/8 in. For plate thicknesses less than 5/8 in., a test weld shall be made for the thinnest shell plate to be welded; this test weld will qualify plate thicknesses from t up to 2t.
