The height of API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks

The design metal temperature of API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks each component exposed to the liquid or vapor being stored shall be the lower of the following:
a)The minimum temperature to which the tank contents will be refrigerated, including the effect of subcooling at reduced pressure.
b)The minimum metal temperature anticipated when the atmospheric temperature is below the refrigerated temperature (see 4.2.1). The effectiveness of the insulation in keeping the metal temperature above the expected minimum atmospheric temperature shall be considered.

If the gap between the API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks tank shell and the stringer of the API 650 petroleum storage tank exceeds 200mm, handrails should be provided on both sides of the stairs. Unless otherwise specified, according to API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks ASTM A123, the following accessories shall be hot-dip galvanized. The damaged zinc coating should be repaired with zinc alloy.

Treatment of API standard 650 flat-bottom tanks welding defects:
1. Lack of fusion: once found, it should be shoveled and grinded off before re welding.
2. Incomplete penetration: over standard defects shall be removed and re welded. When welding on both sides, the shallow side of the groove can be grinded and shoveled to expose the welding root on one side, and then the welding is repaired.
3. Slag inclusion: over standard defects shall be removed and re welded.
4. Crater: weld to full after grinding.
5. Air hole: if the internal air hole exceeds the standard, it shall be welded again after being removed by grinding shovel, and the surface air hole shall be removed by grinding wheel and then repaired.
