Allowable Design Stresses
The maximum allowable design stresses for the API standard 650 SUG II tanks materials outlined in Q.2.1 shall be in accordance with Table Q-3.The values for the allowable design tensile stress given in Table Q-3 for materials other than bolting steel are the lesser of (a) 331/3% of the specified minimum ultimate tensile strength for the material or (b) 662/3% of the specified minimum yield strength, but they are 75% of the specified minimum yield strength for the stainless steel, nickel alloy, and aluminum materials. Allowable test stresses are based on the limitation of API 620 oil tank storage standard Q.8.1.3.Supply covers for API standard 650 SUG II tanks connections specified with the service covers remaining in place following tests. For API 650 tank connections not specified to be supplied with service covers, the test covers may be removed after testing.The Qatar Railways company launched a tender for designing ,construction and completion of Green Line Project. Our company has participated in the bidding from Qatar Railway Company since May, 2016. A delegation from project visited several famous API standard 650 SUG II tanks pipe mill in China for 15 days in July,2016. Of course the delegations had visited our pipe mill.The foundation design of the API standard 650 SUG II tanks should meet the requirements of foundation stability and deformation, that is, the API standard 650 SUG II tanks foundation should not be crushed and the uneven settlement value of the foundation should be within the allowable range. The uneven settlement of the storage tank foundation should be specified in the design process of the safe allowable range, because excessive uneven settlement will reduce the safety of the API standard 650 SUG II tanks and cause distortion and deformation of the tank wall and bottom plate.Respect customers and treat each other sincerely.
