API standard 650 SUG I tanks testing requirements
Oil, Gas, Chemical, Water, and Bio-Fuel storage. Maximum of the most common welded steel tanks used in industry are designed following API 650. Tanks typically found in Refinery API standard 650 SUG I tanks tank farms, Terminals, Pipelines, and other process facilities use these tanks.
Unqualified welding quality of API standard 650 SUG I tanks is prone to hidden dangers such as oil tank steel plate cracks and leakage. To avoid this situation as much as possible, it needs to be avoided when the oil storage tank is manufactured. Scientific and reasonable measures are adopted to control the welding quality when welding the API standard 650 SUG I tanks. How to reasonably control the welding process quality of oil storage tanks?
Impact Test Requirements for Oil Storage Tanks Primary ComponentsAll API standard 650 SUG I tanks primary components of 9% or 5% nickel steel shall be impact tested in accordance with Q.2.2.2 through Q.2.2.4. Impact testing is not required for primary components of austenitic stainless steel, nickel alloy, and aluminum materials. Welds in high-alloy (austenitic) stainless steel shall be impact tested if required by Q.6.3.Impact testing of plates, including structural members made of plate, shall comply with the following:a)Impact test specimens shall be taken transverse to the direction of final plate rolling. b)Charpy V-notch specimens shall be cooled to a temperature of –320°F for A353, A553, and A645 steels for impact testing.

As we all know, steel pipes occupy more space in the process of transportation. If there is no good way of packing, the transportation cost for steel pipes will be a big expense. In view of this characteristic, our company is ingenious and adopts the nest package method to solve this problem perfectly. The premise of the nest package is that the diameters of the steel pipes are different, and the small diameter pipe is inserted in the large diameter pipe. This not only saves the volume, but also saves the transportation cost. It also reduces the loading and unloading workload by half, saves precious time, and enables customers to receive goods earlier.
