API standard 650 storage tank bottom joints
Oil storage tank is an important equipment commonly used in petroleum and petrochemical industry. New API standard 650 storage tank, metal storage tank must be tested before it can be put into use or put into storage. The common inspection methods of API standard 650 storage tank include radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing and dye penetrant testing. The parts and operation requirements of these testing methods are different, so they should be selected according to the required characteristics.
The thickness of the API standard 650 storage tank annular bottom plates shall be in accordance with Table Q-4 (for steel or aluminum, as applicable). The thicknesses shown are minimums. The ring of annual plates shall have a circular outside circumference, but it may have a regular polygonal shape inside the tank shell with the number of sides equal to the number of annular plates. These pieces shall be butt-welded in accordance with Q.7.1.1, Item b. The plates of the first shell course shall be attached to the annular bottom plates by a weld as required by API 620 oil tank 5.9.5 except when a full-penetration weld is used or required (see Q.7.1.1). Butt-welds in annular plates shall be not closer than 12 in. from any vertical weld.
Oil, Gas, Chemical, Water, and Bio-Fuel storage. Maximum of the most common welded steel tanks used in industry are designed following API 650. Tanks typically found in Refinery API standard 650 storage tank tank farms, Terminals, Pipelines, and other process facilities use these tanks.
With the development of multimodal transport in the international shipping market and the increase of the complexity of the integrated transport chain, modern ports, as the intersection of the three transportation modes of sea, land and air, are developing from traditional transfer and product distribution functions to all-round value-added services, becoming the central link connecting the world's production, exchange, distribution and consumption, and supporting the world economy and international trade An important part of the developed international circulation system.
