API standard 650 self-anchored tanks automatic bleeder vent
A cylindrical nozzle with a 12-in. inside diameter is located in solid plate in the sidewall of a cylindrical storage tank 60 ft in diameter so that its axis lies in a horizontal plane and forms an angle of 55° with a perpendicular to the sidewall at the point of intersection, as shown in Figure F-7. The thickness of the API standard 650 self-anchored tanks sidewall plate, tw, in this area is 5/8 in., and no corrosion allowance is required. The total internal pressure, Pl + Pg, at the center of the opening is 26.1 lbf/in.2 gauge.
API 650 internal floating roof oil tank executive standard: domestic design standard: GB50341-2003 "Vertical cylindrical steel welded oil tank design code"; domestic construction standard: GB50128-2005 "vertical cylindrical steel welded oil tank" Construction and Acceptance Specification; API standard 650 self-anchored tanks Foreign design standard: API650-2007 "Standard for Welded Steel Petroleum Storage Tanks."
The specifications used in the design of large oil tanks, API standard 650 self-anchored tanks mainly include American Petroleum Institute Standard API 650, Japanese Industrial Standard JIS B8501, British Industrial Standard BS2654 and Chinese National Standard GB50341 from a global perspective. The formulas used in each specification are based on the hoop stress in the membrane theory. Each specification is based on the performance characteristics of materials and the construction technology level of their respective countries to determine the allowable stresses and weld coefficients. Therefore, the calculation results of tank wall thickness of API standard 650 self-anchored tanks with the same volume are sometimes quite different according to different specifications.
