API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks semiautomatic arc welding
Before pressure testing, thoroughly flush the API 650 tank floating roof primary drain hose system. Supply API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks blind flanges, gaskets, and bolting (for other types of blanking covers as may be required) necessary for testing.
Materials for API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks primary components shall comply with the requirements of Tables R-1 and R-2. All primary components shall be impact tested in accordance with R.2.1.2 through R.2.1.4. Impact testing of API 620 welded storage tanks plates, including structural members made of plate, shall comply with Table R-1. Impact test specimens shall be taken transverse to the direction of final plate rolling.
Welding inspection of bottom plate of API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks, vertical oil tank: During the fabrication and installation of API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks, the bottom edge plate is welded first. According to the requirements of the technical standard, penetrant inspection is required for the weld of edge plate at the bottom of API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks, that is, penetrant testing is required for each weld bead priming, filling and capping. In the process of testing, if any defect is found, it shall be repaired immediately. After the repair, the surface coloring penetrant test shall be conducted again until the test result is qualified.
