API standard 650 cylindrical tanks pontoon manhole
In this project, an area of tank wall is constructed of ASTM A285, Grade C, steel plate that is 5/8-in. thick and has spot-radiographed, double-welded butt joints. The wall is subject to tension in a meridional direction and to compression in a latitudinal direction. The values of R1 and R2 at the point under consideration are 75 in. and 300 in. respectively. A corrosion allowance of 1/16 in. is required. The computed (meridional) tensile stress, stc, in the net thickness after deduction of the corrosion allowance is 6000 lbf/in.2. The problem in this example is to find the maximum allowable (latitudinal) compressive stress value for the given conditions, in conformance with the provisions of API 620 tank standard 5.5.4.5.
Fabricated to API standard 650 Welded Tanks for Oil Storage Shop Assembled API standard 650 cylindrical tanks storage tanks, these tanks are commonly used at oil and natural gas terminals, API standard 650 cylindrical tanks processing plants, and midstream facilities located along pipelines at the pumping, compression, or metering stations. API 650 storage tanks are designed and fabricated considering operating pressures up to 2.5 PSIG, corrosion allowance, wind loading, and seismicity.
Prefabrication requirements of large vertical API standard 650 cylindrical tanks accessories: the prefabrication shall be deepened as far as possible in strict accordance with the requirements of construction drawings and specifications, according to the principle of convenient installation and construction, as much as possible to reduce the installation workload, especially the workload of high-altitude operation. The prefabricated accessories shall be strictly inspected to ensure the quality and make marks. In addition, effective measures should be taken to prevent deformation, damage and corrosion during storage, transportation and stacking on site.
