1100 aluminum tube API 650 stainless and carbon steel tank
The thickness of the API 650 stainless and carbon steel tank annular bottom plates shall be in accordance with Table Q-4 (for steel or aluminum, as applicable). The thicknesses shown are minimums. The ring of annual plates shall have a circular outside circumference, but it may have a regular polygonal shape inside the tank shell with the number of sides equal to the number of annular plates. These pieces shall be butt-welded in accordance with Q.7.1.1, Item b. The plates of the first shell course shall be attached to the annular bottom plates by a weld as required by API 620 oil tank 5.9.5 except when a full-penetration weld is used or required (see Q.7.1.1). Butt-welds in annular plates shall be not closer than 12 in. from any vertical weld.
Lateral braces between outer bay rafters must be provided if asymmetrical structural shapes are used for rafters and if the API 650 stainless and carbon steel tank API 650 tanks are located in areas subject to earthquakes. The bracing must be adequately sized for the seismic zone specified.
Requirements for prefabrication of the top of large vertical API 650 stainless and carbon steel tank: The prefabrication of the tank top shall be prefabricated in blocks according to the drawings. Pay attention to the spacing of the welds after installation when setting out the material. Reinforcing ribs should be formed and inspected with an arc-shaped template. When a single top plate needs to be spliced, butt joints should be used. The forming of a single top plate should be welded between the reinforcing ribs and the top plate on the mould. After forming, check with an arc-shaped sample plate, and the gap should not be greater than 10 mm.
