Optional design procedures of API Std 650 SUG III tanks
The API Std 650 standard published by the American Petroleum Institute (API) is designed to provide the petroleum industry with welded steel tanks for use in the API Std 650 SUG III tanks storage of petroleum products and other liquid products commonly handled and stored by the various branches of the petroleum industry.
Steel transportation because of the special material of API Std 650 SUG III tanks steel, is a metal with "iron" as the main basic element, small volume and large weight, and easy to oxidize and rust when contacting with air and rain water, so there are many precautions in the transportation of steel. There are 11 proverbs for steel transportation: "evenly placed, moisture-proof and rust proof". Our company chooses the logistics aspect to be very rigorous, takes the customer's request as the standard, guarantees the steel product quality.
The API 620 large storage tank nozzle neck is fabricated by welding from 1/2-in. plate. The materials in the tank wall, the nozzle neck, and the reinforcing pad conform to ASTM A442 Grade 55. The main joints in the tank wall are fully radiographed, double-welded butt joints. The longitudinal joint in the nozzle neck is of the same type API Std 650 SUG III tanks but is not radiographed; however, the longitudinal joint and all other parts of the nozzle-and-wall-plate assembly have been shop stress relieved after fabrication, as required by 5.25. The adequacy of the reinforcement and attachment welds shown in Figure F-6 shall be determined.
API Std 650 SUG III tanks, Vertical oil storage tank is an important equipment for many enterprises to carry out production, which provides important support and help for the storage of many reagents. Vertical storage tank is generally used as atmospheric pressure vessel. Advantages: the filling rate of cylindrical structure is second to that of spherical tank, and the largest volume of the storage tank can be made into tens of thousands of cubic meters. The structure is simple and the construction requirements are relatively low.
