How to limit evaporation of liquid contents from API Std 650 uplifting tanks
Inspection of weld and micro crack of API Std 650 uplifting tanks: the inner and outer surface of API Std 650 uplifting tanks, weld and heat affected zone shall be observed by naked eyes first. 100% ultrasonic testing or 100% penetrant testing are carried out for butt welds of API Std 650 uplifting tanks. For the defects found by 100% magnetic particle inspection, dye detection, 100% ultrasonic inspection or 100% penetrant inspection, the radiographic inspection shall be used again to ensure the accuracy of the test results.
Manufacturer’s Report and CertificateUpon completion of all tests and inspections on each tank API Std 650 uplifting tanks, the Manufacturer shall prepare a report summarizing all the data on the tank, including foundations (if they are within the Manufacturer’s scope of responsibility) and shall attach to the report all drawings and charts as required by other paragraphs in this section of the rules (see API 620 tank 7.13 and Appendix M).The tank Manufacturer shall furnish and fill out a certificate for each tank (such as that shown in Appendix M), attesting that the tank has been constructed according to the rules in this standard. This certificate shall be signed by the Manufacturer and the Purchaser’s inspector. This certificate, together with the nameplate or markings placed on the tank, shall guarantee that the Manufacturer has complied with all applicable requirements of these rules.
This specification, in conjunction with API 650 Standard, prescribes minimum standards for the API Std 650 uplifting tanks design, supply, fabrication, erection, and testing of field erected welded steel storage tanks complete with accessories as specified herein and as shown on attached Datasheets and/or Drawings.
