How to limit evaporation of liquid contents from API Std 650 SUG I tanks

Application scope of API 650 petroleum storage tank:
1. API Std 650 SUG I tanks Working pressure: atmospheric storage tank;
2. API 650 petroleum storage tank working temperature: -30℃～150℃;
3. API 650 petroleum storage tank liquid medium: various oil products, including naphtha, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, crude oil, fuel oil, heavy oil, benzene, xylene, methanol, ethanol;

Treatment of API Std 650 SUG I tanks welding defects:
1. Lack of fusion: once found, it should be shoveled and grinded off before re welding.
2. Incomplete penetration: over standard defects shall be removed and re welded. When welding on both sides, the shallow side of the groove can be grinded and shoveled to expose the welding root on one side, and then the welding is repaired.
3. Slag inclusion: over standard defects shall be removed and re welded.
4. Crater: weld to full after grinding.
5. Air hole: if the internal air hole exceeds the standard, it shall be welded again after being removed by grinding shovel, and the surface air hole shall be removed by grinding wheel and then repaired.

For all API 620 crude oil tank other materials, the impact test temperature shall be at least 30°F colder than the design metal temperature. Alternately, materials impact tested at the design metal temperature or lower with Charpy impact test energy value of 25 ft-lb (average), 20 ft-lb (minimum) are acceptable for design metal temperatures above –40°F. API Std 650 SUG I tanks materials with an energy value of 30 ft-lb (average), 25 ft-lb (minimum) are acceptable for design metal temperatures of –40°F or lower.
