API Std 650 mechanically-anchored tanks designed and constructed for elevated temperature service

The API 650 tank Standard has the built in flexibility to be used in building tanks to store a wide variety of products while ensuring the structural stability of the API Std 650 mechanically-anchored tanks tank.

API Std 650 mechanically-anchored tanks, floating roof tank is composed of vertical cylindrical tank wall and floating roof, which is floating on the surface of liquid storage. The volume of floating roof storage tank is generally large, and its bottom plate is arched edge plate. The difference between floating roof tank and other types of storage tank is that there is a floating top cover floating on the surface of liquid storage, and the top cover floats up and down with the rise and fall of liquid storage.

The API Std 650 mechanically-anchored tanks outer wall shall be designed for the purging and operating pressure of the space between the inner and outer tank shells and for the loading from the insulation, the pressure of wind forces, and the roof loading.
The outer tank bottom, shell, and roof shall have a minimum nominal thickness of 3/16 in. (7.65 lbf/ft2) and shall conform to the material requirements of Q.2.3.
