API standard 650 SUG I tanks manhole cover plates

Welding inspection of bottom plate of API standard 650 SUG I tanks, vertical oil tank: During the fabrication and installation of API standard 650 SUG I tanks, the bottom edge plate is welded first. According to the requirements of the technical standard, penetrant inspection is required for the weld of edge plate at the bottom of API standard 650 SUG I tanks, that is, penetrant testing is required for each weld bead priming, filling and capping. In the process of testing, if any defect is found, it shall be repaired immediately. After the repair, the surface coloring penetrant test shall be conducted again until the test result is qualified.

Respect customers and treat each other sincerely. Customers are always right. Always remember that the user is the God of the enterprise, respect the customer, and accept the customer's opinion modestly is the guarantee of the long-term development of the enterprise. Adhere to this concept, so that the service and the product are the same, long-term.

In this project, the area of tank wall used is of the same construction, material, and geometry as that described in F.1.3.1 except that the thickness of the plate is 3/8 in. The wall is stressed in the same manner as is described in F.1.3.1. A corrosion allowance of 1/16 in. is required. The computed (meridional) tensile stress, stc, in the net thickness after deduction of the corrosion allowance is 8000 lbf/in.2.
The problem in this example is to find the maximum allowable (latitudinal) compressive stress value for the given conditions, in conformance with the provisions of API 620 tank standard 5.5.4.5.
Solution: As determined from Table 5-1, the maximum allowable tensile stress value, Sts, for ASTM A285, Grade C, steel plate in simple tension is 16,500 lbf/in.2. Since the compressive stress is latitudinal, the governing value of R in this situation is R1, or 75 in.

Fabricated to API Standard 650 Welded Tanks for Oil Storage Shop Assembled API standard 650 SUG I tanks storage tanks, these tanks are commonly used at oil and natural gas terminals, API standard 650 SUG I tanks processing plants, and midstream facilities located along pipelines at the pumping, compression, or metering stations. API 650 storage tanks are designed and fabricated considering operating pressures up to 2.5 PSIG, corrosion allowance, wind loading, and seismicity.
