API 650 is widely used for tanks that are designed to internal pressures of 2.5 PSI or less and store products such as crude oil, gasoline, chemicals and API standard 650 aboveground petroleum storage tanks produced water. According to the structure type of floating roof, floating roof API standard 650 aboveground petroleum storage tanks can be divided into internal floating roof tank and external floating roof storage tank. The internal floating roof tank is a floating roof tank with tank roof. The top is the combination of dome roof and floating roof, the external is dome roof, and the internal is floating roof. Backing strips and the associated welding shall be made in a manner that provides a smooth contour in the rat hole and all other weld joint ends. All weld passes shall be started at the rat hole and other weld joint ends and shall be completed by moving away from these ends. Passes shall be overlapped away from edges to provide a smooth continuous weld.
