Floating roofs shall comply with API standard 650, Appendix C (Attachment 01) or with the API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks requirements as layed (laid )down in the national Chinese specifications SH3046-92 and GBJ128-90.

Large-scale vertical API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks mostly use internal tank bottom heating coils to heat the medium stored in the storage tanks. The heating coils are mostly smooth tube structures arranged in an annular circle along the bottom of the API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks. Commonly used heating methods include hot oil circulation heating method and hot water steam circulation heating method. The hot oil circulation heating method is to continuously extract part of the liquid medium from the storage tank, and then return it to the container to mix with the medium in the tank after heating, and the heat is quickly transferred through mechanical stirring.

Butt-welded joints used to fabricate large steel storage tank fittings shall be completely radiographed. Lines carrying liquid shall be hydrostatically or pneumatically pressurized at a minimum pressure of 35 lbf/in.2 and API standard 650 mechanically-anchored tanks butt welded joints shall be simultaneously visually examined (hydrostatic) or solution film tested (pneumatic) for tightness. If manufactured pipe has been hydrostatically tested previously to ASTM requirements, then only circumferential welds need to be examined.
