Before pressure test, the main drain hose system of API 650 petroleum storage tank floating roof should be thoroughly flushed. Provide blind flanges, gaskets and bolts required for the API Std 650 storage tank test (other types of covers are also required if necessary). Covers for maintenance shall be provided in accordance with the interfaces specified by API 650 petroleum storage tanks, and these seals shall remain in place after the test; and for those interfaces that are not provided for maintenance covers, the covers can be removed after the API Std 650 storage tank test.
API Std 650 storage tank weld tightness test: remove dirt from the API Std 650 storage tank weld, apply white powder emulsion, spray kerosene on the other side of the weld after drying. Because of the strong penetration of kerosene, if kerosene is sprayed after 12 hours (under low temperature conditions, the time can be extended), if the surface of the welded seam coated with white emulsion has no spots, the welded seam meets the requirements.
A cylindrical nozzle with a 12-in. inside diameter is located in solid plate in the sidewall of a cylindrical storage tank 60 ft in diameter so that its axis lies in a horizontal plane and forms an angle of 55° with a perpendicular to the sidewall at the point of intersection, as shown in Figure F-7. The thickness of the API Std 650 storage tank sidewall plate, tw, in this area is 5/8 in., and no corrosion allowance is required. The total internal pressure, Pl + Pg, at the center of the opening is 26.1 lbf/in.2 gauge.
